Bead (Sand) Milling

Sand-Milling is the efficient method for producing finest dispersions in the shortest possible time. This is more efficient than conventional methods like ball-milling and colloid-milling. The thoroughly mixed mill-base slurry is pumped at a controlled rate through a jacketed cylinder containing any of the suitable micro-media like Ottawa sand (20/30 mesh), Glass-beads (0.8 to 3 mm), Zirconium beads (0.4 to 3mm), Alumina beads (0.5 to 3 mm) or Steel Shots (0.8 to 3 mm). A specially designed stirrer with discs produces intense shear and attrition interaction between the particles, media, discs and the wall of the cylinder producing finest dispersions. Media separation devices like perforated sieve, slotted cartridge or rotor-stator, separates grinding media from the dispersed mill-base which is continuously pumped out.

Horizontal Bead Mill

Unique, Proven Design

in service since 1985  and now in it’s 4th generation. 

  • Without Mechanical Seal or Stuffing Box.

  • Suitable for both water based and solvent based products.

  • Sturdy stand from heavy sections of angles, channels and sheets.

  • Drive system comprising of Motors with sufficient power fitted with correctly sized branded pulleys and belts.

  • Shafts supported on heavy duty bearings.

  • Replaceable Grinding Shells bolted to cooling jackets.

  • Mills can be charged with 85% Ceramic Media.
